Helen (Lippoldt)

Helen Ann Eales (Lippoldt), 83, formerly of Alton, IL, died at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, IL.  She was born December 24, 1933 in Alton, the daughter of Otto and Sophia (Bierbaum) Lippoldt.  She was a 1951 graduate of Alton High School and a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ.  She was a secretary for Owens Illinois, a stay at home mother while raising her children and later an office manager for the Godfrey Utility Board until she retired.   On February 25, 1955 in Alton she married Charles Elza Eales who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded  in death by one daughter; Cathia “Cathy” Kimball.  Surviving are two daughters; Cynthia “Cindy” Fields and her husband Tim of Westfield, IN and Christina “Christy” Soldano and her husband Frank of Elmhurst, IL and eight grandchildren; Megan Fields, Ashley Fields, Paige Fields, Benjamin Kimball, Nicholas Soldano, Anna Kimball, Annalise Soldano and Francesca Soldano, one son in law; Mike Kimball of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, one sister; Dorothy Gerdt and her husband Alfred of Godfrey, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.   Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday January 16, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry MeCaskey officiating.  Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.  Memorials may be made to Crisis Food Center or Evangelical United Church of Christ or Charity of Choice.  Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
