Harry Edward Martin, 73, entered into eternal peace at 1:10 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his home.
He was born on January 18, 1945 in Clareyville, MO, one of five children born to the late Edward and Hazel (Parker) Martin.
He served our country honorably with the United States Marines, enlisting in October of 1963 serving in the Vietnam War.
He began his working career in the construction industry, where he worked on a vast array of projects and specialties throughout the years. Later in life, he made the transition to working as a truck driver, eventually retiring in 2008.
He married Alma Lou Perkinson on November 11, 1967 in Alton and together their 50 years of marriage was blessed with many wonderful memories and the pleasures that came with raising their three children.
Harry's love for Alma was one to be admired. Throughout their time together, there was no greater purpose or treasure in his life bigger than his love for her. After her passing on April 29, 2018, Harry longed to be with her more and more each day. Fortunately for them, their time apart was only but a brief separation.
Surviving are a son, Eddie Martin of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; two daughters and sons in-law, Karen and Bobby Blasa of Medora and Susan and Bob Hill of Jerseyville; ten grandchildren, Brandie and Kyle Cox; Clayton Blasa; Josh Dickerman; Juston Hill; Tara Mann; Carl and Amy Hill; Alison Hill; Landon Martin; and twins Waylon and Alba Martin; nine great-grandchildren; a brother Steve Frazer of Belleville; Clara Frazer of Columbia; Verna Frazer of Texas.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Martin.
Per his wishes, cremation rights have been accorded.
