Harold Dailey

Harold Roy Dailey, 66, passed away at 5:44 a.m. , Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born November 16, 1951 in Dutenhofen, Germany. Harold was a son of Helga (Bernau) Lewis of Bethalto and the late Lloyd W. Lewis.

Harold had worked several years as a CNA in the health care industry but his last career was his favorite, a stay at home Paw Paw.

He was a foster grandparent at the Hartford Elementary School for 2 years of which he loved dearly.

Survivors include, one daughter, Kim N. Dailey of Wood River; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin L. and Diane Dailey of Alton; six grandchildren, Kaylee, Kassandra, Landen, Leila, Caleb and Donevin; one sister and brother-in-law, Maureen and Michael Hammon of Worden; one brother, Scott W. Lewis of Worden; several nieces and nephews, Zachary & Angela Hammon and children Hannah, Olivia and Caylee, Matthew and Michele Hammon and children Bree and Natalee, Casey Hammon, Emily and Steve Turner and children, Brenden and Baylee, Amanda and Doug Kutter and children Devin, Anthony and Dakota, Melissa and Gene Thomas and children Tyler, Tanner and Meagann.

Harold was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Kyle Dailey and a sister Deborah Lewis.

A celebration of Harold’s life will began at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018, with a service at 6:30 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.

Burial will be private.

Memorials may be given to the family.
