Hamer Angel, 72, died at 2:55 p.., Friday, October 29, 2010 at his residence as a result of a house fire.
He was born in Michael in Calhoun County on Jan. 9, 1938, the son of the late Arthur & Rosa (Cross) Angel.
He had been employed as a union laborer for many years and married the former Doris E. (Gresham) Mayhall on Jan. 8, 1994 in Jerseyville, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David Angel & Jonathan Angel both of Rushville; three step children, James A. Gresham, and his wife, Kathie McCallister of Carollton, Susan A. Mayhall of Jacksonville, and Christopher J. Mayhall of Rockbridge; two grandsons, Preston & Jordan Angel; a step granddaughter, Trisha McCallister of Carrollton; three sisters, Wilma Jean Meyer of Jerseyville, Rosemary Roundcount of Kampsville, and Violet Becker of Michael; three brothers, Harvel Angel of Michael, William Angel of Jerseyville, and Gerald Angel of Farmington.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Simon & Pauline Moore; and three brothers, Earl Cross and two in infancy.
Memorial visitation will take place on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville from 4 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m.
Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
