Gregory Heet

Gregory John “Jack” Heet, Jr., 90, of Belleville, IL, born November 19, 1935, in East St. Louis, IL, died Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by family.

Jack attended both St. Mary Catholic Grade School and St. Henry Catholic Grade School in Belleville, IL. After graduating from Cathedral High School, he served in the National Guard from 1957-1959 and was stationed in South Carolina, Minnesota, and Missouri. He later retired from Anheuser Busch, where he was very proud of his career that spanned over 35 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Barbara J. Heet, nee Hines, whom he married on May 30, 1959; a daughter, Catherine; a granddaughter, Erika; his parents, Gregory John Sr. and Inez, nee Forsythe, Heet; a brother, Robert (Kathy) Heet; a sister, Mary Jo (John) Behrman; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Williams and Edward Hines.

He is survived by three sons, Gregory Heet III, Jeffrey J. (Mary Ann) Heet, and Brian J. (Tammie) Heet; two daughters, Lisa J. Heet, and Michele J. (Ed) Erschen; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Jacqueline, Jennifer, Jamie, Jake, Zachary, Rachel, and Sarah; 16 great-grandchildren, a sister, Inez Williams; two sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Dennis) Simon and Ellen Hines; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Private visitation will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
