Gregory Gaddy

Gregory Dale Gaddy died Saturday, February 13 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton, Ill. He was 47. 

Greg was the son of Dale Gaddy of Olney, Ill., and Jacqueline Rhea of Rosewood Heights. They predeceased him. 

A graduate of Alton High School, Greg received radio training at the St. Louis Broadcasting School, and Lewis & Clark Community College. And Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, from which he graduated. 

Greg was a superfan of the St. Louis Blues. A holder of season tickets behind the goal, he wore a referee's uniform and was known to the fans as 'The Ref.' 

He was also active with the Alton Little Theater 

A lifelong member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ of Godfrey, he was a member of the church's staff and a personal friend of the pastor, the Rev. Jerry McCaskey. 

Greg is survived by his aunts, Judith Broughton of the Bronx, N.Y., and Joyce Middleton of Short Hills, NJ.; his uncle, Thomas Gaddy of Olney, Ill., and numerous cousins. 

Graveside services will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto at a future date.
