Gregg Thomas Jameson, 70, died at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at VIP Manor in Wood River. He was born December 22, 1942 in Alton, IL the son of the late Glenn and Helen (Mulqueeny) Jameson. He was employed in the electronics field with various military contracts and most recently had worked for AEL Corp at St. Louis Regional Airport working on the F106 aircraft remote control operations. In 1961 he graduated from Arcadia High School in Arcadia, CA. He served as a Docent at the Eaton Canyon California Nature Center and was a member of the Cactus and Succulent Society and the Pasadena Lapidary Society. After moving to Godfrey he joined the Lewis and Clark Radio Club and was an Amateur Radio (Ham radio) Extra Class Certification, a Librarian for the Alton Municipal Band for nine years and was a supporter of music programs around town. Gregg was a history buff, plant lover, trained weather spotter, and was a member of The Evangelical United Church of Christ where he was very active and part of the sound team. He is survived by two sisters; Marcia Kay Jameson of Godfrey and Jane Elizabeth Jameson of Godfrey and her boyfriend Brian Hogue. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; Carole Ann Jameson. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Visitation will continue 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of Funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at The Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey. Reverend Jerry MeCaskey will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey. Additional information and online guest book may be found at
