Grace Louise Lemons, 96, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at V.I.P. Manor in Wood River.
Born December 25, 1918 in Carrolton, IL, she was the daughter of George Bartlett and Juliet Josephine (Gillingham) March. Mrs. Lemons was a homemaker and a member of Sanford Avenue Baptist Church in Alton. On July 11, 1936 she married Robert L. Lemons in Jacksonville, IL. He preceded her in death. Surviving are three nieces, Susan Budde (Robert) of Hartford, Mary Ellen Fox (Wally) of Calhoun, GA, and Joy Stowell of Los Angeles, CA, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Keith, Fred, and George March and a sister, Neva Johnson.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Dan Bower will officiate.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to Sanford Avenue Baptist Church.
