Grace A. Patton, 67, of Bethalto, passed away at 6:53 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her daughter’s home.
Born March 25, 1949 in El Paso, Tex., she was a daughter of Elmer M. and Lillian M. (Brady) Lehr.
Grace was for the most part a homemaker, but had worked as a bartender at Midtown and the Palace. She retired in 2014 after 15 years at the deli counter at Schnuck’s in Bethalto.
Survivors include a daughter, Tonia Patton of Cottage Hills; a son, William “Billy” Patton of Bethalto; two grandsons, Trevor and Keith Patton; a niece, Linda Rye of Cottage Hills; and a sister, Ellie (Howard B.) Sims of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece and nephew that she raised, David and Amanda Harrison; and her former husband, William L. Patton.
According to her wishes, there will be no formal services, but a dinner will be held in her honor at a later date.
Memorials, to honor Grace and her love of animals, may be made to the 5 A’s animal shelter.
