Goldie M. Brown, 96, passed peacefully with her sister by her side on Friday October 7, 2016 at 2:03 pm.
She was born on December 1, 1919 in Golden Eagle, IL the daughter of the late William M. and Maggie (Behnen) Retzer.
Goldie married Harley T. Brown on February 24, 1945 at the Evangelical U.C.C. Church in Godfrey, IL and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2000
Goldie was a homemaker all of her life. She belonged to Evangelical United
Church of Christ in Godfrey.
She was a loving wife to Harley with whom she shared 55 years and enjoyed cooking and keeping house.
She is survived by two sisters; Gladys Abell of East Alton and Bertha Dean of Alton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Cleta Ursch and Sylvia Fessler; and two brothers: Harry Retzer and Clifford Retzer
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of Funeral Services at 12 noon Monday October 10, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Pastor Jerry MeCaskey officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
