Gloria Dean Godowitz, 82, passed away at 8:52 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Carlinville Area Hospital.
Born June 12, 1936 in Shawneetown, IL, she was a daughter of Floyd and Mary (Ralph) Maynard.
She married Burton L. Godowitz June 24, 1993 in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He preceded her in death Oct. 30, 2018.
Gloria worked as an LPN in the home health care field which carried her to Canada, Mexico and the Virgin Islands.
Surviving are a daughter, Lydia (Curtis) Branch of Peoria, IL; a son, John Booher of Brighton; 3 grandchildren, Tasha Lind, Angela Vanderbloom, and Ryan Branch; 6 great grandchildren, Kirstin Hanson, Morrisan Hanson, Isaiah Lind, Porter Lind, Blake Vanderbloom and Alana Vanderbloom; a brother, Eugene (Linda) Maynard of Bethalto; and two sisters, Ruth Wilson of Bethalto and Kay (Jim) Kaylor of Prairietown.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Delbert Booher; a sister, Shirley Lawson; and two brothers, Bob and David Maynard.
According to her wishes, there will be no services, and she will be laid to rest with Burt at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
