Glenda Carter

Glenda M. Carter, nee Collier, 90, of Fairview Heights, IL, born Thursday, April 2, 1936, in Oak Hill, MO, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 at Parkway Gardens Assisted Living in Fairview Heights, IL.

Glenda worked as an administrative assistant for Kemper Insurance, preceded by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Tabernacle Baptist Church secretary, and A.E. Staley Clerical Pool. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, IL and a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Decatur. She served in church as a teacher and choir member. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the joy of her life. Her spiritual gift was hospitality and she enjoyed blessing others with her pies and hosting friends over for her famous roast, carrots and potatoes.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairview Heights or Tabernacle Baptist Church of Decatur, IL.

Visitation: Visitation from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2026 at First Baptist Church at 10401 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights, IL.

Services: Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2026 at First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, with Pastor Scott Douglas officiating.

Graveside Services: Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2026 at Old Stonington Cemetery in Stonington, IL.
