Glen A. Schupbach, 78, died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born June 29, 1934 in Hartford, IL, he was the son of Maurice Leighton Schupbach and Edna L. (Wisdom) Schupbach Keber. Mr. Schupbach served in the U.S. Army for two years and retired from McDonnell Douglas as a manufacturing engineer. He was a member of the Alton-Wood River Sportsman’s Club and the Piasa Gun Club. On October 6, 1959 he married the former Judy Massey. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Amy Schupbach of Godfrey, two beloved grandsons, Zachary Wallace and his girlfriend, Candice Bligh and Wyatt Niebruegge, special friends, Jeff and Stacy Lagemann and their children all of Godfrey, a brother, Donald E. Schupbach of Alton, brothers-in-law; Dick Massey of Alton, and Jim (Betty) Massey of Belleville, sisters-in-law; Florence Massey of Gibson City, IL, Margaret Thackrey of Bridgeton, MO, and Donna Massey of Godfrey, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and also his dog Jack. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Jeanette Schupbach and brothers and sisters-in-law; Gene and Virginia Massey, Leonard Thackrey, Bill and Wanda Massey, Bob Massey, Dorothy Humphrey, and Kay Massey. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Reverend Dr. Glen Greenwood will officiate. Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
