Gladys E. Tuchalski 95, of Alton, IL passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home.
She was born June 11, 1923, in Alton, IL the daughter of Albert and Eva (Fessler) McCormick.
She married Carl R. Tuchalski on August 14, 1945 in New York City. NY. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2010.
Gladys was a Personnel Director at Sears for many years. In her younger years she enjoyed square dancing, crafts and needle point. She and her husband would travel to Texas during the winter and would often attend the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association Convention.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Tuchalski (Rebecca) of Moro, IL; a grandson, Rev. Clint Followell (Monica) of Texas; three grandchildren, Brandon, David, and Asher Followell; and a sister, Goldie A. Gentry of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; a daughter, Marsha Followell; two brothers, Clyde McCormick and Carl McCormick; and two sisters, Alice E. Cole and Pearl Brown.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
