Gervase Zipprich

Gervase Paul Zipprich, 91, of Jerseyville, died at 9:57 a.m., Monday, Novemberr 25, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Calhoun County on Oct. 18, 1922, the third of four sons born to the late John & Mary (Traufler) Zipprich.As a young man he had worked at the International Shoe Factory and later worked for Baughman Manufacturing in Jerseyville until the plant closing.  He was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus both in Jerseyville.He is survived by a brother & sister in law, Fred & Marie Zipprich of Augusta, Ks.; a sister in law, Beth Zipprich of Port Neches, Tx.; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Barbara Zipprich of Jerseyville, John Zipprich of Houston, Tx., James & Nancy Zipprich of Jerseyville, Michael & Nancy Zipprich of Elsah, Marilyn & John Birt of Keller, Tx., Cynthia Zipprich of Kansas City, Mo., Colum Zipprich of Florence, Ky,, Larry & Karen Zipprich of Oak Hill, Va., and Keith & Mandy Zipprich of Hutchinson, Ks.He was preceded in death by a two brothers & a sister in law, Jerome & Marie Zipprich, and Sylvester Zipprich; as well as a niece, Carliss Rosello.Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m., Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville with Father William Hembrow officiating.Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Knights of Columbus in Jerseyville
