In addition to his wife, he is survived by his only daughter Linda (Clark) Fry of Godfrey, and 3 sons; Jay (Aby) Garvey of Edwardsville, Michael Garvey of Incheon, South Korea and Brian Garvey of Godfrey. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aaron (Jill) Fry, Cody (Emily) Fry, Clayton Garvey, Collin Garvey, Kailea Garvey, Youma Garvey, Jackson Garvey, Kyma Garvey and Mayma Garvey and two special people he would always consider family, Mamiko Garvey and Stephanie Garvey. There will be no visitation or funeral services. Gerry has donated his body to science and per his wishes he would like for everyone to plant a flowering tree in their own yard in memory of him. He wanted everyone to remember his favorite line “See, I told you I was sick!” If this sentence made you laugh, this was his intention. That was the true Gerry Garvey.
The family will be celebrating his life on Sunday, May 7 at the Godfrey Knights of Columbus, McNicholas Club at 1713 Stamper Lane in Godfrey from 1 – 4 pm. Friends and Family are welcome to join.
