George Gabriel

George Thomas Gabriel, 78, passed away at 11:15 pm, Friday February 5, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.He was born in Alton on August 14, 1937 the son of the late Marlin C. and Adel M. (Oetken) Gabriel.He was a machinist at Proctor and Gamble for many years.He is survived by a longtime friend Norma Biggs; two sons James “Tom” (Mary) Kroeger of Staunton and Louis M. (Laura) Gabriel of Collinsville; three grandchildren Anna Kroeger, Cora and Jonah Gabriel; three brothers Bill Gabriel, Jim (Nancy) Gabriel, and John (Evelyn) Gabriel; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Robert W. Gabriel.In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10 am until time of memorial service 12 pm Thursday February 11, 2016 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.Burial will follow at a later date.Memorials may be directed to the family.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
