George Stewart

George Phillip Stewart, 77, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born Feb. 2, 1946 in Greenfield to Simeon Francis and Florence Lucille (Hayes) Stewart.  He married Bonnie Ann Wreath Dec. 20, 1968 in Alton.George was a Vietnam Veteran and served his country in the Army. He was retired from Azcon.  He enjoyed junking cars and scrap metal.  He was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church on Airline Drive.He was survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Ann Stewart of Cottage Hills; sons, George P. Stewart of Cottage Hills and Barney James Stewart of Cottage Hills; daughter, Melinda Jean (Jeff) Keaton of Siloam Springs, AR; brother, Wess Stewart of Cottage Hills; former daughter-in-law, Melissa Stewart of Cottage Hills; grandchildren, Daniel, Danita, Mackenzie and Bryson; two great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings.Cremation services entrusted to Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.An online guestbook is available at www.paynicfh.com.
