Genevieve "Ginny" M. Loy, 87, passed away at 6:27 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

She was born on June 28, 1922 in Alton, IL, daughter of the late Ralph & Edna (Harris) Norton.

She married Gerald W. Loy on May 30, 1940 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away on December 23, 2003.

Ginny was employed at Owen Illinois Glass Co. as an inspector, working for 31 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the United Church of God in St. Louis, MO. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, making bears and scrap booking.

She is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Gayle & Gary Fansler of Fort Worth, TX Harry Loy of Alton and Rebecca & Gary Bartholomew of Wood River; 10 grandchildren, Gary Fansler II, Dana Romaguera; Darin Fansler, Genny Tindell, David, Greg and Alan Bartholomew and Timothy, Alexandra and Harmony Loy; 10 great grandchildren, Reagan, Jordan and Zoe Fansler, Tarin and Tyler Romaguera, Brent Bartholomew, Daniel and Michelle Fansler and Brayden and Ian Tindell; 4 siblings and their wives, Dorothy Palmer of Bethalto, Wilma & Dale McAninch of Bethalto, Esther & Gerald Hise of Alton and Bill & Wanda Theisen of Alton and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by her, parents; husband; one infant daughter Ruth Jean and one brother Albert Theisen.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.

Funeral services will at 1 pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, with Pastor Vince Szymkowiak officiating.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials May be made to the United Church of God in St. Louis, MO.
