Gene Rowe

Gene B. Rowe, 84, passed away at 5:47 am on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at his residence. He was born on May 26, 1941, in Kentucky, the son of the late George and Merle (Brown) Rowe.

Survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Rebecca and John Dawson of Columbia, Illinois, Rachel Wright of Moro, five grandchildren: Brittany (Eric) Wiederhold, Keri (Anthony) Cipperoni, Hallie Dawson, Whitney (Ian) Darr, Kristen (Aaron) Arbuthnot, a sister: Gynon Black of Alton, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Gene was employed at Laclede Steel for thirty seven years as a carpenter prior to his retirement in 1997. He owned and operated G.B. Rowe Tree and Stump Removal. He was a member of the Meadowbrook 1st Southern Baptist Church. He was a man of strong faith and spent his life helping and doing for family and strangers alike.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Mark Rowe, and many brothers and sisters.

In celebration of his life, funeral services were held at 10am on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Meadowbrook First Southern Baptist Church. Pastor Kevin Auten officiated.  Burial followed at Carrollton City Cemetery in Carrollton, Illinois.
