Gary Ray Brown, 64, passed away at 1:57 pm, Thursday December 22, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Alton, IL on June 15, 1952 the son of the Raymond and Betty Ann (Lotz) Brown.
On June 26, 1976, he married Julie A. (Darr) at Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey, Il.. She survives.
Gary served his country in the US Navy, during the Vietnam War and was employed with Allied Universal Security at the Olin Corporation in East Alton. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey, the NRA, enjoyed fishing and was an avid Hunter. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his father; Raymond Brown and Mary Waagee, of Bethalto; three daughters; Christina and James Lenart of Zion, IL, Andrea and Andy Chamberlain of Godfrey, IL and Alicia and Bradley Willenberg of Orlando, FL, four siblings; Tammy DeRooy of Benita Springs, FL, Randy and Nancy Brown of Brighton, IL, Damon and Michele Brown of Sorento, IL and Jaimee and Nolan Trewitt of Salt Lake City, UT, four grandchildren; Ethan, Kaila, Ava and Olivia, and his best friend Ron Klein of Alton, IL.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one brother Kenton Brown.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 3 pm until time of funeral service at 6 pm on Monday December 26, 2016 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.
Memorials may be directed to the funeral home to help with family expenses.
