Gary Walker

Gary Lorin Walker, 73, died at 8:51 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton.  Born June 10, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Lorin E. Walker and Naomi P. Cope.  Gary served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Faith Fellowship Church.  He retired as an electrician for the I.B.E.W.  On September 9, 2008 he married Diane Lynne Guarneri. She survives.  Also surviving is a son, Jeffrey Harrison Walker of San Diego, CA, two step sons, Steven Michael Walker of House Springs, MO, and Mark Allen Walker of Des Moines, IA, one brother, Darl Blaine Walker of Tallahassee, FL, and a sister, Gayle Sue Harper of St. Louis, MO.  He was a grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to many.  He was preceded in death by a step-son, Kenneth Dale Walker.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017.  Reverend Daymond Talkington will officiate.  Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with full military honors by the VFW Post 1308.  Memorials may be made to Faith Fellowship Church.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
