Gary Druessel

Gary Lee Druessel, 79, passed away Friday morning, September 15, 2023 with his family by his side, at home and in peace, after complications due to a stroke and vascular dementia.

Gary served in the Army during Vietnam over in Germany with his wife Janet Buske by his side, whom he had been married over 55 years til her death.  When they returned, Gary attended Ranken Technical School where he earned his trade in electrical electrician. Gary was a union man and part of the brotherhood of IBEW Local 1 out of St. Louis until he retired.

Gary was hard working and there was nothing he could not fix. He was a dedicated family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and wife. He had a strong faith in God. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River and served of the board of trustees and was head of trustees for a time. He enjoyed spending time outdoors at his home in the country.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Druessel and spouse, Bradley, Shelley Puckett and spouse, Gregory; two grandchildren, Carson and Jolene; and two siblings.

A private funeral is being held for immediate family at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River.
