Gary Tite

Gary D. Tite, 76, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL with his family by his side.

He was born May 8, 1941, in Alton, son of the late Paul E. and Arvetta (Patton) Tite.

Gary married Frances M. Floyd on December 2, 1960 at 1st Baptist Church of Cottage Hills. They were happily married for 57 years.

He worked at General Motors as a parts picker from 1959 to 1989 for 30 years. He was a member of the VFW “Farm” Godfrey and the Alton Moose. Gary enjoyed drag racing, car racing, bowling, fishing, deer hunting. Gary was a member of the “FBI” car club, he loved old cars and loved his ’39 Chevy Sedan. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two children, Jeffrey (Lori) Tite of Moro, Kimberlee (Michael) Romero of Meadowbrook; a brother, Randall (Brenda) Tite of Brighton; two grandchildren, Kaylee and Austin Eaton; special niece, Kathy (Monte) Little of Granite City and other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Norma “Dee” Frankford; a nephew, Kevin Frankford and a grandson, Tyler Eaton.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Brittney Gilliland officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodland Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
