Gary Curtis Blevins, 60, passed away 12:22 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
Born o November 2, 1954 in Alton, he was the son of Wanda (Harper) Blevins of Wood River and the late Curtis Blevins.
He had been a printer and retired from Peabody Coal Co. in St. Louis and NBS, Inc in Edwardsville.
He was an avid bowler, enjoyed horse racing and was a big sports fan, especially the baseball 'Cardinals' and 'Blues' hockey.
Gary is survived by his mother; step-mother, Patricia Blevins of Wood River; son, Christopher (Tammie) Blevins of Moro; daughters, Tori (Nate) Hoffmann, Gina Blevins all of Bethalto; four grandchildren, Dylan and Colin Hoffmann, Kylea Carlisle, Averee Blevins; brothers, Mark (Laura) Blevins of Waterloo, Greg (Michele) Blevins of East Alton; sisters, Shirley (Rick) Lankford of Wood River, Tammy (Paul) Caradonna of Afton, MO; his special "second family", longtime companion, Chris Moore of East Alton; her daughter, Michelle Moore and her children, Landon and Ayden of East Alton; 'brothers', Harold Settles of Roxana, Tom (Holly) Settles of High Ridge, MO; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous friends; and very special friend, Tim Cobine and his family.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the 1st Baptist Church in Wood River.Rev. Rob Kirbach will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
