Gary Bauser

Gary Wayne Bauser, 68, went to be with the Lord at 11:10pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Alton Memorial Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born on July 29, 1958, in Alton, the son of the late Ralph and Clara (Bull) Bauser, Jr. 

He married the former Jolene Price on September 26, 1981, in Alton, and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter and son in law: Elisha and Robert Maxeiner of Godfrey, a grandson: Jaxon Maxeiner, a special nephew: Nathan Bodkins of Texas, two brothers and sisters in law: Steve and Bev Bauser of Godfrey, Mark and Dee Bauser of Alton, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Gary was formerly employed as a maintenance supervisor for Target stores. He collected Hot Wheels, micro machines, knives, Zippo lighters, Harley-Davidson stuff, was a collector of all things KSHE 95, was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #254 in Alton. He loved the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed watching wrestling. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Madeleine Maxeiner, a brother: Donald Bauser, and a sister: Sharon Bodkins.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 11am until time of services at 1pm on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Levi Halford will officiate. 

Memorials are suggested to the family.
