Gail A. Oglesby, 79, of Bethalto, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Bria of Wood River.
She was born on March 8, 1947, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of John R. and Margaret L. (Deuser) Oglesby.
Gail worked for over 30 years at the Wal-Mart Superstore in Lake of the Ozarks, until her retirement in 2021. She enjoyed shopping and loved her dogs Choloe and Daisy. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with friends and family.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Erica (William) Southard of Bethalto, and Austin (Lexi) Lauck of Batavia, OH; daughter-in-law, Rhonda (Dwayne) Hendrick of Bethalto; sister-in-law, Kathy Oglesby of St. Louis, MO; and a nephew, Todd (Rebecca) Oglesby of St. Louis, MO.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, Larry Lauck, Sr.; a brother, Ed Oglesby; son-in-law, Larry Lauck, Jr.; and a grandson, Jude Southard.
Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. No services will be held at this time.
Memorials are suggested to Lewy Body Dementia Association.
