Frieda Schuetz

Frieda “Jo” Schuetz, 83, of Brighton, IL passed away Friday, March 2, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born October 20, 1934, in Dongola, IL the daughter of Sandy Ward and Dorothy Randalls Sivia. She married Frederick Schuetz on January 1, 1953 at the Upper Alton Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2016.Frieda was an avid Bowler, she was the secretary of several bowling leagues and at one time the President of The Greater Alton Women's Bowling Association.  She loved to read and most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by a  a son, Clint Schuetz of Brighton, IL; three daughters, Terry Roettgers of Washington, MO, Kathy Ralston (Herb) of Bunker Hill, IL, and Susan McAfee (Frank Fox) of Bellflower, IL; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great- great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, Frederick; she is preceded in death by her parents; a son; Lawrence Schuetz; an infant son; Matthew; and a sister, Virginia Julen. Cremation rites will be accorded per Frieda’s wishes.A Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday March 7, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will take place at a later date.Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.Online Condolences may be made at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
