Frederick John Spence III, 78, passed away at 11:52AM Saturday, August 22, 2020 at VonDell Gallery & Studios in Wood River, IL.
He was born May 24, 1942 in Ottawa, IL, the son of John and Dorothy (Shoup) Spence.
Frederick was a talented oil painter and instructor. In earlier years he worked in ceramics and porcelain, specializing in porcelain dolls.
Frederick was very knowledgeable on the subject of art and was the administrator of VonDell Gallery & Studios.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward “Rocky” Spence.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 9 AM – 11 AM at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
A graveside service will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville with Julie Gvillo officiating.
Memorials can be made to Riverbend Humane Society of Jerseyville, a no kill shelter.
