Franklin Guffey

Franklin D. Guffey, age 86, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.Franklin served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He retired from McDonnell-Douglas after 35 years as a sheet metal assembler and riveter. He enjoyed making clocks.He was born November 17, 1931, in Mt. Pulaski, IL, the son of P.L. and Pearl (Ellison) Guffey. He married Juanita Kozatos on May 6, 1958, in East Alton, and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2013 in Alton.He is survived by three sisters, Thelma Luster of Fosterburg, Betty Burnheimer of Brownstown, and Kay Spain of St. Elmo.In addition to his wife, Juanita; he is preceded in death by his parents..Visitation will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017, from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at Noon at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL is in charge of arrangements.Online Condolences may be made at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
