Brighton |

Frank Spencer Long, 86, passed away on February 14th after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. His hard working hands are at rest.

After retirement he was able to then dedicate his full attention to his car lot, Long's Auto Sales, which he and Sue ran for 40 years. At this time he began his favorite job being a full time grandpa. Frank also served on Macoupin County Board from 2006- 2020.

Frank was a member of the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ and attended church regularly. He loved God and trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was confident of his eternal life with Him. Frank enjoyed a full and prosperous life. He was a gentle, kind, generous and loving soul…a classic like the many cars he loved to tinker with. He wasn't much in the kitchen but he made the best ice cream sundaes. He never left his wife, kids or grandkids without a kiss goodbye even in his last moments.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers-in-law Sylvia (Art) Barnes, Alberta (Sonny) Camerer, sister-in-law Bettie (Bert) Hamblem, brother-in-law Leon Jackson; three nephews Gary Camerer, Larry Barnes, and Jack Barnes who was like a son, and two nieces Debbie Barnes and Kathie Hamblem.
