Frank Teney

Frank Floyd Teney, 64, of Carrollton, formerly of Jerseyville, died suddenly at 8:51 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Jersey County on April 23, 1953, and was the son of Benjamin and Matilda (Groppel) Teney.He married the former Sharon Louise (Ament) Freshour on Dec. 11, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville, and they soon would have celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary.Surviving are his wife, Sharon Teney of Carrollton; three daughters and a son in-law, Amanda and David Grindstaff of Jerseyville, Kathryn Teney of Kane, and Becki Teney of Fieldon; five grandchildren, Elijah Grindstaff, Alexis Hedden, Peyton Grindstaff, Reagan Grindstaff and JordynGrindstaff; a sister and brother in-law, Hazel and Claude Draper of Summerville; a sister, Bertha Collins; a sister in-law, Donna Dirksmeyer of Jerseyville; three neices, Tammy Lyming and Connie Dirksmeyer both of Jerseyville, and ShantelWoolsey of Otterville.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Frederick "Junior" Teney, Cecil Teney Sr., Ben Teney, Leo Teney and James "Jim" Teney and  two sisters, Annie Day and Matilda Gounds; and an infant sister,  Emma.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.   Rev. Robert and Dennis Hill will officiate.Burial will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery near Fidelity.Memorials may be given to his family, in care of the funeral home.
