Frank C. Eckhardt, 84, of Worden, IL, died at Community Memorial Hospital, Staunton, IL on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. He was born November 6, 1939, in Saint Louis, MO to Frank L. Eckhardt & Carrie R. Eckhardt. He married Vera E. Hollandsworth Eckhardt on October 23, 1964.
He was a laborer for IL Laborers Local 397, Edwardsville for 56 years. He was a veteran of the US Army. Frank enjoyed metal detecting, music, friends and family. He is survived by his children, Kathy Dawes of Granite City, IL, Brenda (Steve) Root of Granite City, IL, Dennis (Jeanne) Eckhardt of Staunton, IL, Scott (Sherry) Eckhardt of Staunton, IL, grandchildren, Frank E. Eckhardt, Jr., Tonya (Patrick) Ritter, Phillip (Brittany) Jaime, Emily (Jessie Smith) Eckhardt, Aubree Eckhardt, Gregory Eckhardt, great-grandchildren, Adrianna Dawes, Brianne Jaime, Levi Eckhardt, Roman Ritter, Eliza Jaime, Avery Jaime, Olivia Jaime, Mikayla Eckhardt, great-great grandchild, Harrison Dawes, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, son, Frank E. Eckhardt, Sr, son-in-law, Larry Dawes, grandchild, Cassandra Dawes, siblings, Jean K. Eckhardt White (William L. White), Ruth Eckhardt Laws (Otto Laws), and Norman F. Eckhardt (Betty J), Carolyn Eckhardt Thatcher, Fred Allen Eckhardt. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
