On November 28, 2010 Frank A. Bentley found himself in a most unusual place, all at once he was standing face to face, with someone he knew so well but he had never seen, he was s standing in the presence of the King.
Frank A. Bentley, 76, went to be with the Lord at 10:10 am Sunday November 28, 2010 at home.
He was born on November 11, 1934 in West Palm Beach, Florida, the son of Frank A. & Florence (Brainerd) Bentley.
He married the former Karen Lindroth on December 6, 1986 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She survives.
He served his country in the Marine Corp and then became a Design Engineer where he did contract work for several companies.
He was a member of the Roxana Church of the Nazarene, a member of the Alton Leathernecks Marine Corp League, and a member of Gideon’s International.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Bentley, four children, Pamela Bentley, Mark (Michelle) Bentley, Corrine (Michael) and Tammy (David) Shirley; three grandchildren, Adam Bentley, Zachery and Nicholas Shirley, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy & Doug Suwyn.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday November 30, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Visitation will continue from 10 am until time of funeral services at 11 am Wednesday December 1, 2010 at Roxana Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Larry Lacher and Pastor Doug Krassow officiating. Alton Leathernecks Marine Corp League will conduct military rites.
Cremation rites will follow.
Memorials may be made to Roxana Church of the Nazarene or Alton Leathernecks Marine Corp League.
