Francisco “Poncho” Antonio Pulido Sr

Francisco “Poncho” Antonio Pulido Sr., 89, died at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. He was born July 24, 1928 in Granite City, IL the son of the late Jesus and Mary (Rodriguez) Pulido. He retired from Laclede Steel after 40 years where he worked as a crane hooker. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, he loved to barbeque and always kept his cars clean. On October 21, 1950 in St. Louis, MO he married Margarita (Lopez) and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Gloria Pugh (Ron) of Alton, Olivia Fischer (Charlie) of Alton, one son, Francisco Pulido Jr. (Mary) of Godfrey, eight grandchildren, Frank Kuchnicki (Angie), Erika Jacobs (Ed), Francisco III “Paco” Pulido, Eric Pulido (Amy), Marcos Pulido (Stacy), Alex Pulido (Ann), Cristina Siatos (Jim), Lucas Fischer and eleven great grandchildren, Brenden, Carlos, Luna, Marisol, Gianna, Sophia, Lucia, Adam, Nikolas, Ana and Gus. Also surviving are five half siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two half sisters and one half brother. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.
