Francis Bittner

Francis N. Bittner, 60, of East Alton, IL, born Friday, July 17, 1964, in Chicago, IL, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his residence in East Alton, IL.

Francis worked as a Foreman for Asphalt Paving and Concrete company in Maryland Heights, MO. He worked for Dennis Puff for years not only doing asphalt in the summer, but also snow jobs in the winter for Chris Wilson, who owns Wilson's lawn and maintenance out of Florissant, MO.

Francis had a great crew that worked for him for years, and throughout the years, he treated them just like family. Just to name a few; Brandon Nowlin, Timothy Bridges and Nathan Keffer, all of East Alton, and Dylan Reid of South Roxanna.

Papa Frank or dad to most, made sure his kids were taken care of. He had a big heart and went out of his way to show his family he cared. He was the best dad he could possibly be and he will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman David Bittner; mother, Beverly Diane, nee Price, Shilling; and brother, Wayne Bittner.

Surviving are his seven children, Francis N. Bittner Jr. of Houston, TX, Daniel W. Bittner of Hemstead, TX, Jennifer Allen of Cottage Hills, IL, Colin D. (fiancée Jessica) Bittner of East Alton, IL, Cameron J. (fiancée Shelbie) Bittner of East Allen, IL, Ali M. Brown of Wood River, IL, and Weston L. Bittner of Wood River, IL; sister, Evelyn M. Bittner of Redmond, OR; and 6 grandchildren; and one great grandson.
