Frances P. Nolte, 93, passed away at 6:30 am Saturday April 15, 2017, at Morningside in Godfrey
She was born March 14, 1924 in Batchtown, the daughter of the late Emil & Alice (Sackman) Stumpf.
Frances married John E. Nolte on October 20, 1945 in Batchtown. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2013, just before their 68th wedding anniversary.
She was a homemaker and also helped her husband on the farm. Frances was a graduate of Brussels High School and was one of their first cheerleaders, cheering for her future husband.
Frances was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels and St. Mary’s Altar Society. Frances started making St. Mary’s Church Picnic’s famous dumplings. She was also well known for her delicious homemade Chocolate Angel Food cakes.
She is survived by two sons, Tom (Jean) Nolte of Highland and Jim (Denise) Nolte of Godfrey, three daughters, Theresa Schleeper of Rockford, Elaine (Kevin) Eberlin of Brussels, and Linda (Mike) Held of Godfrey, thirteen grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Evelyn Nolte of Golden Eagle, one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charlie (Marietta) Nolte of Brussels, and several nieces and nephews,
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ben and Vincent Stumpf, and a son-in-law, Toby Schleeper.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Wednesday April 19, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels with Fr. Don Roberts celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brussels,

School or South County Calhoun Ambulance.
