Forrest Weed
Alton | Save
Forrest Allen Weed, 66, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family on July 17, 2020.
Born July 24, 1953 in Alton, he was a son of Robert W. and Katherine (Janiszewski) Weed.
Forrest is survived by his two children, Holly (Jerry) Caito and Forrest Matthew Weed, all of Alton; four wonderful grandchildren that we was so very proud of: Cameron and Harmony Schallenberg and Ethan and Elizabeth Weed, all of Alton; two sisters, Pamela Baldwin and Geraldine (Terry) Brauer, all of Wood River.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert Weed II, William Weed and Fred Weed.
In 1974 he worked as a deckhand, 1st mate until 1986. He graduated from the nursing program at Lewis & Clark Community College as one of only two male nurses. In 1987 he started his career as an LPN and worked for various agencies until 2014. In his spare time he loved fishing and listening to music and going out to BBQ's with family and friends. Forrest always said, 'The biggest fish in the river or pond gets that way by never being caught.'
