Floyd Uhl

Floyd Clifford Uhl, 86, died at 12:07 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2024 at La Bella of Alton.  Born November 12, 1937 in Avilla, Indiana, he was the son of Clarence and Ruby (Meyers) Uhl.Mr. Uhl served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Amoco Oil in Wood River after 30 years of service.He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed taking care of his lawn.On October 20, 1962 he married the former Rosemary Treesh in Albion, IN. She survives.Also surviving are two children, Joan Brandenburger (David) of Ft. Wayne, IN and John Uhl (Janet Zerr) of Godfrey, three grandchildren, Nathan Brandenburger, Natalie Brandenburger, and Nora Haydock (Peter), two sisters, Ruth Prentice and Dolores Peacock both of Kendallville, IN and his friends and earthly angels, Kathy Wittich (Joe).  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, his twin, Lloyd Uhl and Paul Uhl, and a sister, Edith Whonsetler.Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.Memorials may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.The family would like to thank Southern Illinois Hospice for their care and support.Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
