Flint Joseph Ory, 89, passed away 3 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO.

Born on April 6, 1927 in Cairo, IL, he was the son of Joseph Oran and Bella Ann (Clouatre) Ory.

A World War II navy veteran, he was a co-founder of Ory Brothers Marine Service and then owner and operator of Interstate Petroleum before retiring in 1990.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Boniface Catholic Church.

On September 23, 1950 in Wood Rver, he married Ruth 'Louise' Bouchet.  She survives.

Surviving also are three sons, Robert (Barbara) Ory of Ft. Collins, CO, Stephen (Lisa) Ory of Edwardsville; Jeffrey (Kathleen) Ory of Marine; a daughter, Kathleen D. Tousey of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Wynter (Brian) Farmer, Flint N. (Theresa) Ory, Brett (Meranda) Ory, Kathleen Ory, Brooke Ory, Anthony (Cheryl) Meoli; seven great grandchildren, Arrington, Calder and Karpenter Farmer, Brennen, Beckett and Rousseau Ory, Joseph Meoli; two sisters, Audrey Ory of Wood River, Lelia Nasser of Houston, TX; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two daughters, Diane L. and Mary C. Ory; two brothers, John L. Ory and John Rene Ory; and a sister, Shirley Liley.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville.  Father Jeffrey Goeckner will officiate.

Burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
