Fern Marie Price, 80, was born to Clarence & Dortha Nicholas in Alton, Mo on April 1, 1937. She was called Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2017. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alfred, their daughters Angela Fern & Ella Mae Williams, and a granddaughter, Cammie Stairs.
Surviving are their children, Larry (Pam) Price of Benton, IL, Barry Price of Benld, Alan (Debra) Stairs of Soddy Daisy, TN, Sheila (Kenny) Shaw of Fosterburg, and Bob (Karen) Stairs of Sesser, IL; Glenial (Neita) Price of Benld, and Jerry Price of Indianapolis, IN; more than 100 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Eddie (Doyle) Hollis of South Roxana; and a brother, Don (Pat) Nicholas of Bowling Green, KY.
She was a godly woman who raised her family to love, serve, and obey Jesus Christ; she led us by example. She was the personification of a Proverbs 31 woman who was “far more precious than jewels…Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Prov. 31:10, 29-30).
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 18 at Paynic Home for Funerals.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 19 at Connect Church, 1417 Herbert St., South Roxana.
Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to Missions at Bear Point Freewill Baptist Church, Sesser, IL.
