Everett R. Rhyne, 79, former of East Alton, passed away 7:34 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Brent B. Tinnin Care Center i Ellington, MO.
Born on March 23, 1937 in East Alton, he was the son of Martin Thomas Sr. and Eva Mae (Pierce) Rhyne.
He had worked in the casting department of the Olin Corporation for 45 years before retiring.
He married Norma Fay Castleberry, who preceded in death, then married Juanita Flynn who survives.
Surviving are in addition to his wife are two daughters, Eva (Michael) Mester of Van Buren, MO, Dana Rhyne (Marlin Furlow) of Alton; five stepchildren, Anna Crowe, Kathy Bailey, Christopher Powell, Reba Lester and Kay Yates; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Robin) Huffman, Crystal (Coy) Butler, Alonsha Edwards Rhyne, Alonzo Edwards, Jr, Clarissa Howard; 20 step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Michael Huffman, Chloe Huffman, Charlie Mesey, Robin Mesey, III; brother, Ernie Rhyne of Cahokia; and three sisters, Esther Cope and Alberta Knight both of East Alton, Nancy Bartlett of Bethalto.
His parents; first wife; son, Charles Rhyne; and four brothers, Martin Thomas "Smokey", William, Marvin and John Rhyne preceded in death.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 28 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Interment will be in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
