Evelyn Lackman

Evelyn June Lackman, 85, died at 4:10 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.She was born in Jacksonville, IL. on Feb. 1, 1931, and was the daughter of Loran B. & Dorothy (Wilner) Alexander.She was a 1949 graduate of Jacksonville High School, and was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church inJerseyville, and a dedicated volunteer at Jersey Community Hospital.She married Charles Lackman on Aug. 16, 1952 at Our Saviours Catholic Church in Jacksonville, and together they shared nearly 64 years together and shared the responsibilities, as well as the joys, of raising their four children.Surviving are her husband, Charles Lackman of Jerseyville; a son & daughter in law, Charles Michael & Sandra Jane Lackman of Carlinville; two daughters & a son in law, Marsha & James Raulsten of Conroe,Tx., and Patsy McGee of O'Fallon, Il.; 10 Grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Dihel of Normal, Il.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lush on Apr. 3, 2002; a brother, Carl Alexander; and a sister, Anna Margaret Steele.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father Patrick Gibbons officiating.Burial will be in the  St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools or to the Jersey Community Hospital Volunteers.
