Evelyn Delores Manda, 89, died at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2010 at her residence. She was born January 4, 1921 in Covington, OK the daughter of the late Earl S. and Edith (Reynolds) Logan.

On August 12, 1943 in Pampa, TX she married Victor Manda and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1999. She was a member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton. She was very active with The Godfrey Lions Club and prided herself in selling the most tickets for the pancake sausage breakfast. She was active with the College Avenue Presbyterian Church Piasa Pilots Mariners and Mary’s Circle. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and loved her vegetable and flower gardens.

Surviving are one daughter; Delores Bloemker and her husband Darvin of Godfrey. One son; Phillip Manda and his wife Juanita of Jerseyville. Four grandchildren; Jeffrey and his wife Anna Manda, Scott Manda, Kathy Finley and her husband Jason and Amanda Bloemker. Three great-grandchildren; Jakob and Jessika Manda and Caroline Finley. One brother; Earl D. Logan and his wife Jean of Washington, MO. Two sisters; Mae Belle Oertle of Godfrey and Jeanelle Von Behren and her husband Louis of Lees Summit, MO. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister Alberta and brother-in-law; Frank (Bud) Oertle.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Reverend Kathie Knehans to officiate. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
