Evelyn Abel-McCormick, 79, went to be with the lord on Wednesday September 17, 2014, surrounded by family. She was loved by many. She was the doll lady for the Community Hope Center for over 15 years. She thought of others while crocheting blankets and flats for newborns at area hospitals, while fighting cancer herself.
She is survived by Vicki (Rudy) Reeves, Evelyn (Dennis) Tosh, Danny Abel 9 Grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren
She joins her parents, brothers and 2 of her sons Timothy McCormick and Roger Abel in heaven. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 2:00 pm, at Anchor Of Hope Fellowship Center, 503 Milton Rd., Alton, IL 62002, with Pastor Tammi Burk officiating.
