Eva M. Wright, 82, of East Alton, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 1:25 pm, at Alton Memorial Rehab.
She was born on December 19, 1941, in Alton, the daughter of Alexander Washington and Violet Geneve (Martin) Hogle. She married Bernard Wright, and he preceded her in death.
Eva worked as a care taker at Beverly Farms before her retirement. She was a member of 1st Assembly of God Church in East Alton.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Hillary Thompson of Edwardsville, IL; siblings, Barbara Johnesse of Meadowbrook, IL, Carl (Joann) Hogle of Wood River, IL, and Jim (Cathy) Hogle of Algonquin, IL; a great-great-nephew she was very close with, Liam Johnesee; as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, and husband, Bernard, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl Thompson; and siblings, William Hogle, Billie Hogle, Leslie Hogle, Dorothy Calvey, Raymond Hogle, Ruth Ann Weinmann, Linda Sane, and Dianne Thornwald.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Tim Keller will officiate. Burial will follow at Fosterburg Cemetery.
