Eva Ophelia Hindman, 92, passed away at 6:05 am on Monday October 3, 2016 at Bethalto Care Center.
She was born on September 17, 1924 in Murray, KY, the Daughter of the late Archie and Lala (Ross) Walker
She married George Wesley Hindman on December 5, 1941. He preceded her in death.
She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church after settling into the area in 1943.
She is survived by a son; Gene Hindman of Bethalto; a daughter and her spouse Sandy and Tony Stolze; five grandchildren Christine Chastain, Joy Sawyer, Shawn Stolze, Robyn Stolze, Kim Stolze; several great grandchildren; two sisters; Nell Volner, of Alton and Shirley Dooley of East Alton and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a grand daughter Jean Marie Hindman; two sister Gladys Charlene Smith and Norma Keene and a daughter-in-law Lois Hindman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday October 5, 2016 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL
Funeral service will be at 10 am, Thursday, October 6, 2017 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL
Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.
