Eugene C. Swafford, 76, of Mount Olive, IL, died at his residence on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 8:55 am. He was born August 2, 1949, in St. Louis, MO to John Swafford & Irene Randolph Swafford.
He was a construction laborer for Local 42 where he was a member. Eugene enjoyed reading, history, science, gardening and being in his yard.
He is survived by his spouse, Patty Curtis, children, Tom (Samantha) Curtis, Monica Swafford, Eugene Swafford, grandchildren, Harper, Harrison and several others. He is also survived by his several brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Del Swafford, Sue Swafford, father in law and mother in law, Frank and Doris Curtis.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the VFW in Staunton, IL.
