Ernest Williams

Ernest Paul Williams, age 71, of Alton, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017, at Alton Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.Paul was born June 18, 1946, in Alton, the son of Frank and Lily May (Brown) Williams. He married Barbara Ann Harbaugh on June 26, 1966 and she preceded him in death.Paul was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in S. Roxana. He was also a member of the Godfrey Moose Lodge and the AFAM #151 in Bunker Hill. Paul loved to fish and camp. Together with his wife, he enjoyed listening to gospel music and reading the bible.  Lifetime member of AVEC in Alton, Il.Paul is survived by four children and their spouses, Hal and Sherri Williams of Cottage Hills, Ernest Paul and Heather Williams Jr. of Jerseyville, Joyce and Mark Nasello of East Alton, and Carol and Jimmy Wray of Alton; thirteen grandchildren, Christina (Bobby) Wray, Michael Baldwin, Cassandra Baldwin, Elisha (Steven) Johnson, Jeremy Williams, Chelsea (Grant) Tracy, Jessica (David) Corbitt, Misty Morton, Julia (Devon) Hendricks, Beth (Wesley) Behnen,  Deven (Mackenzie) Williams, Brayton Williams, and Gabriel Williams; 17 great-grandchildren, Ica Bailey, Abiee Bailey, Clifford Baldwin, Tristan Baldwin, Jerry Wray, Larssen Johnson, Ryan Hendricks, Piper Morton, Talon Corbitt, Jaydis Ann Johnson, Addalynn Johnson, Tyler Corbitt, Nova Leigh Oliver, Lila Hendricks and three great grandchildren on the way; and many other relatives and friends.In addition to his wife, Barbara; he is preceded in death by his parents; and eleven brothers and sisters.A private family service will be held at a later date.A private family interment will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Foundation.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
