Ernest Kayser
Bunker Hill | Save
Ernest E. Kayser, 64, of Bunker Hill, IL, died at his residence on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 6:58 p.m. He was born March 21, 1962, in Alton, IL to Richard Kayser & Betty Miller Kayser. He was a concrete truck driver. Ernest was an animal lover particularly dachshunds and animals loved him, cats, dogs, ducks and pigeons. He always had a need for speed, fast women, cars, motorcycles, and even homing pigeons with his birds winning one of the nation’s top races.
Ernie was always a competitor, whether it was who could deliver the most loads of concrete in a day or who could keep his truck the cleanest, fastest car, bike or even mini bike. He couldn’t take no for an answer and always had to try and prove that person wrong and most certainly might have been one of his downfalls. He is survived by his siblings, Cynthia (Ernest) Fries of Prairietown, IL, Dwight (Tamara) Kayser of Edwardsville, IL, Phillip (Shara) Kayser of Edwardsville, IL, John (Timothy Byrnes) Kayser of Edwardsville, IL, Debbie (Jim) Hanes of Edwardsville, IL, several nieces and nephews. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents and sibling, Mary Kayser. Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Bunker Hill Community Center from 5pm - 8pm. Memorials are suggested to Metro East Humane Society, 8495 State Rt. 143 Edwardsville, IL 62025 or Liberty Prairie Cemetery.
